Everything you need to know about getting paid on Blaire
Secure Payments by Stripe
Blaire uses Stripe, a global payment processor trusted by millions of businesses, to handle all payments securely. Your financial information is never stored on Blaire servers.
Setting Up Payments
Before you can receive payments for your sales, you need to set up a Stripe account. This is a one-time process that takes about 2-3 minutes.
How to Set Up
- Go to your Wallet - Navigate to yourWallet pageor click on "Set Up Payments" when prompted
- Click "Set Up Payments" - This opens the Stripe onboarding flow
- Enter your details - You'll be asked for:
- Your legal name
- Date of birth
- Home address
- Phone number
- Bank account details (IBAN)
- Complete setup - You'll be redirected back to Blaire
Note: You can start selling immediately after basic setup. Full identity verification (ID upload) is only required when you want to withdraw funds.
Identity Verification
To withdraw money to your bank account, Stripe requires identity verification. This is a legal requirement to prevent fraud and money laundering.
What You'll Need
- A valid government-issued ID (passport, national ID card, or driver's license)
- The ID must not be expired
- The name on your ID must match your account details
When to Verify
You have flexibility on when to verify:
- Immediately: Complete everything during initial setup
- Later: Verify when you're ready to withdraw your first payout
- Deadline: Stripe typically allows 30 days before restricting payouts
Can I Still Sell Without Verification?
Yes. You can list items and receive payments without completing ID verification. The money accumulates in your Stripe balance. You only need to verify when you want to transfer funds to your bank account.
Your Stripe Express Dashboard
As a Blaire seller, you have access to a personal Stripe Express dashboard where you can:
- View your balance and transaction history
- Update your bank account details
- Complete identity verification
- Download tax documents
- Manage payout settings
How to Access Your Dashboard
- Go to your Wallet page
- Click on "Manage Stripe Account" or "View Dashboard"
- You'll be securely redirected to your Stripe Express dashboard

Getting Paid
Payment Timeline
Here's what happens after you make a sale:
- Buyer pays - Payment is held securely in escrow
- You deliver - Drop off the item at the designated point (within 4 business days)
- Buyer collects - They pick up the item
- Protection period - 2-day window for buyer to report issues
- Funds released - Money is added to your Stripe balance
- Payout - Funds are transferred to your bank account
Payout Schedule
Once funds are in your Stripe balance, payouts to your bank account typically arrive within:
- Netherlands (IBAN): 1-2 business days
- Other EU countries: 2-3 business days
New Account Payout Delay
For new Stripe accounts, there is an initial 7-day delay before your first payout is processed. This is a standard Stripe security measure. After your account builds transaction history, this delay decreases to 2 days.
Fees
Sellers Keep 100%
When you sell an item on Blaire, you receive the full listing price. No seller fees, no commission deducted.
Example: You list an item for €20, you receive €20.
Buyer Protection Fee (8% + €1.50)
Buyers pay a small protection fee on top of the item price. This covers:
- Secure escrow - money held until pickup is confirmed
- 2-day dispute window with full refund guarantee
- Verified student community
- Payment processing
Example: For a €20 item, the buyer pays €23.10 (€20 + €3.10 protection fee).
Common Questions
Why can't I withdraw my money?
You may need to complete identity verification. Go to your Stripe Express dashboard and check if there are any pending requirements. Make sure you've uploaded a valid ID.
How do I change my bank account?
Access your Stripe Express dashboard from the Wallet page and update your bank details in the "Payout settings" section.
Why is my payout delayed?
Payouts are released after the buyer picks up the item and the 2-day protection period ends. If a dispute is filed, funds may be held until resolution.
Is my financial information safe?
Yes. All payment data is handled directly by Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor. Blaire never sees or stores your bank account details or card numbers.
What payment methods do buyers use?
Buyers can pay with credit/debit cards and iDEAL (popular in the Netherlands). All payments are processed securely through Stripe.
